I have just found this which was posted on one of the Vale sites

http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/051021/1/51as.html

It looks as though if we were to get too many tickets we could sell them on, via the organisers and the official website. I would say that they would be sold back at face vale minus maybe an administrative fee.

I just hope our group get a few tickets, don't particulally give hoot who, maybe Trinidad :D

im pretty sure i read on the official fifa website that you cant once you have put an application in. you are obliged to pay once you have applied. i'll see if i can find the link for you!

we have done much the same as NorthLondonValiants, theres four of us in total and we have all applied for tickets in the latest round of ticket applications, and from what i gather the only choice of payment for us in the u.k is either mastercard or bank transfer,we opted for the latter and i am sure it outlines the procedure for payment is that they will confirm via e-mail if you are successful and will give you a date to pay by and if you do not pay by that date then the tickets go back on sale, simply put ,if you get all your tickets that you applied for, then you decide which ones to pay for and do it that way.

Sorry mate but have you bought tickets from fifa before coz I think you will find Mrs alan smith is right and you are very wrong, if funds are not present at time of allocation for all applied for tickets you lose the lot and you must pay for all or none.

thats exactly the point i am trying to make,if by some bizarre coincidence we manage to get the tickets we want from all four applications, all of which are for the same games, then we only have to pay for 1 set as there is no legally binding contractual obligation to purchase the ones we dont want, all you do is not pay by the date fifa set as a deadline, which is what NorthLondonValiants was asking.

fifa have stated in the terms of sale no refunds no exchanges no cancellation or changes to application. if tickets are allocated you cannot stop payment fifa check you have the finances to pay for every ticket you are allocated and if you dont have the money for all you get none. You cannot chose which tickets to accept from your allocation. if you have applied in different names and by some miracle get all of them the only way to get out of buying them is to not have the funds when fifa try to take payment. By making an application you agree to pay for all tickets allocated.

The portal is for resale or transfer of tickets post allocation and payment you still have to pay for them before you can transfer them. The website that the link is on is fifa.com the same website as your order you are buying direct from fifa

After reading all the do’s and don’ts about applying for tickets, we have also not applied for the same game twice. ie another member of our group hasn’t applied for us all again, as this will be tracked in the system via name and passport number.

Also you cannot apply for two games in the same day, again even if it is your mate applying for it and not you, so the terms and conditions state, your application for all tickets could be null and void if any of these mistakes are found in your application.

Too much damn red tape IMO.

Okay, you might have to put them on your credit card first, but at least you can transfer or resell them.

That is the point I was trying to make you have to pay before you sell. There are other ways of selling on tickets, we are members of the site below and sold our tickets for the quarter final in Lisbon 04 on there. We sold at face value but many sell on there and ebay for much more that's down to you but we had some people willing to pay a lot of money for ours. Good luck in the draw.

yep, engerlass is absolutely right, believe me ive read through the terms and conditions inside out and back to front enough times!it was all gibberish to me at first and i didnt want to mess up my chances of getting tickets.
to be honest i dont think i have much chance, ive applied for all 3 england group matches then in round of 16 ive applied for winner of group B's match and runner up of group B's match.
good luck to you though,im sure if you do get more tickets than you need, someone out there will buy them off you!

I am sorry if this has been discussed before but I have only found ths site today.

Can tickets be transferred or given back to the organisers for a refund?

The reason I am saying this is, that we have applied for loads of tickets on the chance of getting two or three games per person, as the chances of getting all the tickets we have applied for is relatively low.

Can anyone enlighten me

Thanks

Nope mate you cant get refund or anything once applied, should read the rules and regulations ;)

If you get them they will be issued to you, If you get england ones and dont want them i willl be here you know

So what does this mean?

Taken from the WC Website:

"The 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Organising Committee (OC) is to operate an internet ticket portal to facilitate ownership transfers and reselling of 2006 FIFA World Cup™ match tickets. The online platform, to be run in co-operation with FIFA, is currently scheduled to open on 1 February 2006. The third phase of ticket sales for the 64 matches at the finals runs from 12 December 2005 until 15 January 2006 through www.FIFAworldcup.com.
"99.9 % of those holding tickets will move heaven and earth to attend World Cup matches in person, but we are nevertheless keeping our promise to offer a service-oriented and unbureaucratic solution for those few who cannot," commented OC senior vice-president Horst R. Schmidt.

The OC portal will offer ticket holders the opportunity of finding potential purchasers by legal means. Tickets may strictly only be offered at face value. "This benefits honest and genuine fans by eliminating inflated prices. The aim is to restrict the black market to the absolute minimum," Schmidt explained. "Another vital factor is to keep sales and transfers open and fair. The internet allows everybody to become involved." Transferring tickets to a specific interested party named in advance by the registered holder will also be possible, especially between family members.

The OC will continue to maintain the strictest security standards, as reflected in ticket personalisation.

More detailed information regarding relevant procedures will be released at a later date."
