I'd put in for the three Aus pool games, and the round of 16 game that 2nd from our pool will play.

Didn't get anything, and I won't be holding my breath for the fourth round/scalpers. See you at the big screen in the host cities?

The only thing that disappoints me is: God I would have loved to have been inside Allianz Arena for Aus - Brazil.

World class stadium, world class team... and a bunch of guys who all have a name that starts with R. ;)

We lucked out with tickets as well. Will try again in the next round but I don't think we'll have much luck.

I guess there'll be loads of us gathered around the big screen then - all with extra cash from not having bought tickets!

Post Post subject: Word of warning!
Sorry to hear that there has not been much success for the English contingent among us! Anyway, I have a couple of German friends and they keep telling me that passports are going to be checked outside of the ground. I know we here this scenario every tournament as regards buying black market tixs, but with all the war on terrorism shit and security concerns it looks as though this time it's for real. Apparently, the authorities are aiming to check at least 50% of the punters passports! So think twice if you do get the chance of any tickets. If anybody has heard anything to the contrary I would love to know.

That's what the authorities will say, but it's just scaremongering

I've looked around the World Cup.com site and does anybody know for the ticket lottery do you get all the matches you applied for or can they give you tickets to fewer matches?

Thanks!

In this sales phase each match is a seperate draw so you could get less than applied for if allocated tickets.

Concerning blackmarket tickets, how can they check them against passports when they contain no personal info on the ticket. The same was said for France 98, Holland and Belgium 2000 and Portugal 2004 (sorry couldn't get to Korea :) ) and I have never yet taken my passport to a football stadium.

All the tickets have RFID chips embedded. If you don't beleive me, do a search on google for world cup tickets and RFID! It even states on the FIFA website that they have chips, lots of German civil liberties groups in Germany are up in arms over it, Big Brother and all the rest of it.

Exactly, our brave fighters are rising hell to stop fifa, but there is not much hope that they will succeed.
And believe me Germany other than Portugal has the ability and is scared enough to pull this off.

However this is only concerning illegal tickets and not those obtained through the official channels like fifa´s ticket portal(bravo civil right fighters!) which will open at the beginning of march and where you can officially swap or trade(at face value) tickets to the games.

Post Post subject: Passports and tickets
Hi Berni, it's good to hear that people can swap tickets! So what about the passport situation at the turnstiles, my German friends tell me (and other media sources) that we will need them. What do you know about this? I've got a TST ticket and it means I've got to carry my passport around with me all the time which is a major pain in the arse, especaially if I want to get really drunk! Thanks for the info!
